The remodel of the back of this house in Chislehurst included 3 flush casement windows, 1 set of patio doors and (most excitingly) a large, stained glass landing piece. The supply and installation work was completed by Woody Man Ltd, and design was in collaboration with Specialist Glass Co. Scroll down to see before and after results up close.

Casement Windows

As you can tell from the photos, these windows were in desperate need of replacement due to rot in the frame and sill, and one of the casements was patched up after falling out.

The client opted for the same design as the original, with lead strips and yellow, arched stained glass strips in all the windows for consistency. The two upstairs windows also had frosted privacy glass in the lower half.

The Landing Piece

This fixed landing window had a stunning and bright peacock design that also needed replacing, as there was no way to retain the stained glass. Always good to implement change in the house every once in a while!

The client deliberated on the final design with Specialist Glass Co. www.specialistglass-london.co.uk, and the result is extremely impressive! A Koi fish and lily design with intricate connecting pieces and multiple types of textured coloured glass used. The stained glass is positioned within a double glazed unit, which is then inserted into our timber frame.

Patio Doors

And finally, the existing sliding patio doors were to be replaced by a much more practical set of french doors that open outwards.

All in all, the rear of this house is now looking much more pleasing to the eye, not to mention not as draughty! We are always pleased to be bringing security, quality and range of designs to our clients' homes.
